Vitamin D Recommended To Prevent Cancer
Are You Taking This Simple Health Improvement Step?

More research continues to provide support for a link between Vitamin D and cancer prevention. A recent study of osteoperosis in women found a correlation between patients taking Vitamin D supplements and a lower risk of developing certain types of cancer, including breast cancer.
Canadian Cancer Society Recommendations
There was a 60 percent risk reduction in the group taking Vitamin D versus the group taking a placebo. The results were so dramatic that the Canadian Cancer Society issued the following recommendation for Canadian citizens:
- Canadian adults should take 1000 IU (international units) of Vitamin D daily in the fall and winter months.
- People who may not get sufficient sun exposure during the spring and summer months should consider taking the same dose of Vitamin D all year round.
- No specific recommendations were given for children.
Other countries are in the process of reviewing the results and recommendations.
